When it comes to annual goals, think like a marketer

I am working on my personal development goals for the year. What I aim to accomplish, and how I will measure success. Funny thing about goal development, it follows the same thought process for marketing strategy and planning:

  • Who are my customers, my buyers?
  • What is my value prop?
  • Where are my opportunities?
  • How will I attack?
  • When will I attack?
  • Why does it all matter?

No matter what job or role you have, think about some or all of these things when you set goals for yourself.  Start with answering who then begin to build out the what, where, when, how and why.
